Virginia Association of Volunteer Rescue Squads
What Does Hero Mean?
The Virginia Association of Volunteer Rescue Squads is a non-profit based outside of Richmond, Virginia that has served as the statewide training organization for First Responders (EMT’s, Paramedics, and Firefighters) since 1935. They have provided thousands of classes and have trained tens of thousands of First Responders. The mission of the organization is to promote and assist member rescue squads in improving pre-hospital care in Virginia. Those that have gained certification through their programs are then prepared to get on an ambulance or fire truck in their communities to help prolong and save lives.
